Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

In this sixth installment in this "magical" series, Harry matures more than you have seen in other movies. Even though the acting is grade A, I have to say that the some of the drama elements in the movie just make you want to grown, the tension growing between Ron and Hermione is caused by Hermione's crush on Ron. This leads to unnecessary drama, also the love between Ginny Weasley and Harry begins to bloom when a late night excursion throughout the castle leads to a snog fest. This movie is also just a placeholder for the next movies. Its only there to set up the next two. (The Deathly Hallows will be split up into two parts)

Cube- 1997

Now I know this movie is not a recent one, but I think it is worthy of a review. First off let me tell you, that like most other horror movies, the acting is bad. But in this movie it didn't matter, because the movie wasn't about the drama of the situation, it was more of a psychological thriller. Also, this movie had a very low budget, which explains the set simplicity. the set was simply four cube shaped rooms with doors on all sides and with color changing walls. This allowed for the actors to enter the other rooms from all the doors, even tho not every door was used in every room. All in all, actually being a somewhat frightening movie I give it a 3/5.

Terminator: Salvation

Terminator: Salvation is the fourth movie in the Terminator Series and most likely, the last. It wasn't the best movie out of the Terminator films but it definitely takes advantage of the whole future part of the Terminator story better than the other three. The actors were well cast, with the exception of Kyle Reese. In the original movie, Kyle Reese was more brawny and a little less wiry than the one in this movie. Not to say he wasn't good, just that they could have picked someone better to do it. The visual effects in the movie were outstanding and I give the effects themselves a 5/5. But due to some minor flaws with the movie's story line, as well as the cheap Arnold Schwartzenegger cameo, I award it a 4/5 stars.

UP

Up = Huge Naptime. This movie, was absolute garbage. Yes, there may have been a few funny moments. Actually, not even a few, only one. It was when the old man was arguing with a large pink bird that was mocking him. Other than that, this movie made me want to sleep. The Stupid "Real-D 3D" made my eyes hurt. The Plot was thin, the acting was mediocre. I'm sure you will all agree when I say this deserves a 1/5 stars.

Star Trek

This movie was flat out excellent. The actors were extremely well chosen, especially Spock. Zachary Quinto's portrayal of Spock gave me an entirely new view of the young Spock. What really made this movie stand out to me was the generations in the movie. With Leonard Nimoy (for those who don't know him, he played Spock in the original show) as the old Spock and Zachary as the new one, it really felt as though the two generations of Star Trek were finally melting together. As a soon to be classic, I give this movie a 5/5 for having great actors, sets, effects, and scripting.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

At the start of this movie, I was drawn in quite quickly with high hopes of the movie getting better as it progressed. The first 15 minutes of the movie were quite action packed, but then it quickly began to slow down. But, as soon as his skeleton was replaced with Adamantium, the action began to come non-stop. One problem there was, was that the sound of his claws coming out was just a tad bit delayed, but other than that, every other sound was in sync. If you have seen the other X-Men movies, you will notice that the character seems to have matured in this film, compared to his actions in the first X-Men movie. He seems to have De-matured from this movie to the first X-Men. If you have not seen this movie I recommend going to see it. It is isn't a perfect film and thats why I only award it a 4/5 stars.

Blade Runner

When I first saw Blade Runner, I was quite skeptical about how it would compare to the book. But, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of Harrison Ford. He perfectly captures the essence of Deckard, and if one looks closely, you can see a resemblance to the illustration of Deckard on the cover of the book entitled (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) to the actual looks of Harrison Ford. The movie started off slow, but quickly picked up the pace as soon as the other Blade Runner was killed. The movie began to get a little bit creepy towards the end because the last replicant and his "girlfriend replicant" begin to go a little bit crazy. All in all I give this movie a 5/5 and agree that it is a true classic sci-fi movie.
